Plans & Proposals

As space to build new housing developments and commercial properties become more scarce around Southern Nevada, and particularly in Las Vegas and Henderson, zone change and variance requests are becoming more frequent. The range of these requests range from increased density to changes in land use all together. As a community of residents that have chosen their location based on the promise of low density homes free from commercial or industrial uses, these changes directly impact our future way of life. It is important to note that we, as residents, have the power to stop these changes by making our voice of opposition heard. Attending meetings and standing up to say "not our neighborhood" is best, but you can write letters, send emails, and even contact the city or county you live in to make your voice heard. We continue to employ advisors and when necessary, experts, to support our claims in these changes negatively impacting our way of life. Please donate if you can to strengthen code and solidify the cause.

Zone Change from RS1 to RS6

A track home builder has requested a zone change at Orleans & Burkholder to allow 30 homes to be built instead of 5 on this parcel. Note that land adjacent to RS1 must be annexed with a buffer as RS1. Allowing this change would only allow for other properties to be annexed as high density housing.

AHA Temple

Temple Will NOT Be Built

With thanks to a number of factors including the neighbors and community's relentless support, a team of hired experts, and donations this project will not be moving forward.

Due to current development codes, they would not be able to obtain a special use permit or CUP should they attempt to build.
